- Q: How to replace the Fuel Pressure Regulator Assembly on Scion tC?A:The first step to replace the Fuel Pressure Pulsation Damper Assembly involves discharging fuel system pressure and disconnecting the battery negative terminal. First remove both Engine Cover Sub-assembly No.1 as well as the Air Cleaner Cap Sub-assembly. Detach the fuel pressure pulsation damper assembly by unfastening fuel tube from the fuel hose clamp followed by removing fuel pipe clamp No. 2. Special Service Tool: 09268-21010 helps disconnect the fuel tube from the fuel delivery pipe by placing the fuel tube connector into the tool while aligning the retainer with the tool's chamfer until clicking occurs. Check for all foreign objects on the connector before placing the disconnected part in a vinyl bag. Remove the two bolts in order to detach the fuel pulsation damper. The installation process includes applying light oil or gasoline onto the O-ring of the new fuel pressure pulsation damper before installing it using two bolts and torquing to reach 9.0 N.m (90 kgf.cm, 80 in.lbf) while checking for O-ring damage or by jamming. Insert the connector into the pipe while targeting the clip point then inspect for debris as well as damage before confirming the connection through pulling on both parts. Put fuel pipe clamp No. 2 and the fuel tube inside the fuel hose clamp and reinstall the air cleaner cap sub-assembly. Finalize the engine work by reconnecting the battery terminal with 5.4 N.m torque (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf) while inspecting for fuel leaks before putting on the engine cover sub-assembly No.1.
