    Q:
How to Service and Repair a Fuel Pressure Regulator on Toyota Venza? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to remove the fuel pressure regulator is disconnecting the fuel suction tube assembly with pump and gauge from its fuel pump connector on the fuel suction plate while protecting the wire harness. You should use needle nose pliers to remove the E-ring but be careful to leave the welded tube attached to the plate or reassembly will become more difficult. The process begins by disassembling the fuel suction plate then extracting its spring from the sub-tank followed by unfastening both claws to obtain the fuel filter from the sub-tank. To separate the jet pump nozzle claw use a taped-tip screwdriver until you can remove the jet pump from the sub-tank before removing its O-ring. Unbolt the five clamps from the filter before extracting the fuel pump assembly together with the filter while keeping the fuel suction filter and fuel filter undamaged and maintaining the fuel tube connection with both the fuel suction plate and fuel filter assembly. Separate the fuel pump connector and remove the fuel pump harness before extracting the O-ring and spacer from the fuel pump while maintaining the sealing surface intact. A wire tip with diameter 1 millimeters can be used to extract an O-ring that stays inside the fuel filter. The fuel pressure regulator must be removed from the fuel filter before both O-rings can be taken off.
