The procedure for replacing a 2AZ-FE engine fuel pressure regulator starts with the removal of the rear seat cushion assembly. You need to start with the removal of the rear floor service hole cover following butyl tape removal and unconnecting the fuel pump connector. Start the engine and immediately turn off the ignition when the engine stops. Afterward crank the engine once more to make sure it does not restart before you start the replacement procedure. To complete fuel tank pressure discharge users must both replace the fuel tank cap and remove the wire to wire connector. After disconnecting the battery terminal cable you should proceed to detach the fuel suction with pump and gauge tube assembly through main tube fuel tank remove. Free the tube joint clip while sliding the fuel tube joint from the fuel suction plate plug until no additional foreign substances remain while avoiding damage on any part. Perform the tube removal by hand using only your fingers instead of tools while preventing forced bending, twisting, or turning of the nylon tube. You should place protective tape and a plastic bag over the tube after cutting the main fuel tank tube loose. Take out the two bolts securing the fuel tank protector plate before moving on to the six bolts on the fuel tank vent tube set plate and ending with the removal of the fuel suction with pump and gauge tube from the fuel tank while avoiding damage to the fuel pump filter and ensuring the fuel sender gauge arm remains unbent. Finish the process by taking out the gasket from the fuel suction tube with pump and gauge tube.

The fuel pressure regulator replacement process starts with removing the rear seat cushion assembly then continuing to the following steps. Before moving on you should eliminate the rear floor service hole cover after detaching both the butyl tape and the fuel pump connector. The fuel system pressure needs to be released through engine start with immediate switch-off during engine stoppage then engine cranking until start-up becomes impossible. Thoroughly drain fuel tank pressure by taking out the fuel tank cap followed by disconnecting the wire from the wire connector. Separate the negative wire cable from the battery terminal port. Keep the fuel suction with pump and gauge tube assembly free by disconnecting the fuel tank main tube then take off the tube joint clip before pulling the fuel tube joint out from the fuel suction plate without using any tools while protecting the disconnected parts with plastic bags covered in tape. Begin by taking out the fuel suction with pump and gauge tube from the fuel tank by first removing the 2 bolts and the fuel tank protector plate and then removing the 6 bolts and the fuel tank vent tube set plate while paying close attention to avoid damage to the fuel pump filter and fuel sender gauge arm. Separate the gasket which is located on the fuel suction tube with pump and gauge tube.

Apply a light coat of gasoline or spindle oil to the O-ring of the fuel pressure pulsation damper.

Check for scratches or foreign objects around the joint, ensuring the joint is fully inserted and the clip is properly positioned on the collar.

The fuel main tube, air cleaner cap sub-assembly, and engine cover sub-assembly.

Take care not to damage the fuel pump filter and ensure the fuel sender gauge arm remains straight.

Install the fuel main tube, air cleaner cap sub-assembly, and engine cover sub-assembly.

Remove the two bolts to take off the fuel pulsation damper.

Remove the fuel pressure pulsation damper by disconnecting the fuel tube connector (metallic connector), ensuring to observe precautions to prevent fuel from splashing inside the engine compartment due to retained pressure in the fuel pipe line.

Use 2 screwdrivers to pry out the fuel suction plate, taking care not to damage the suction support and fuel suction plate.

A light coat of gasoline.

Disconnect the fuel pump connector.

Disconnect the fuel pump connector.

Install it with a new clip, then install the fuel pump spacer and apply a light coat of gasoline or spindle oil to a new O-ring before installing the pump to the fuel suction plate.
