Fuel Pressure Regulator

The Fuel Pressure Regulator service starts with removing the fuel pump assembly from the fuel tank followed by using a screwdriver to remove and pull out the fuel filter while maintaining 2.0 N.m (20 kgf.cm, 17 in.lbf) torque. The procedure requires a new O-ring installation after applying a light gasoline coating to it. Then position the O-ring on the fuel filter. Unscrew and pull out the fuel pressure regulator according to procedure then confirm a torque of 2.0 N.m (20 kgf.cm, 17 in.lbf). Use a light gasoline coating to prepare a new O-ring which should be installed onto the pressure regulator after removing its prior O-ring. Installation occurs by following the opposite sequence of the removal steps.

Service and repair operations for the fuel pressure regulator require users to remove first the fuel pump assembly then the No.1 fuel suction support before extracting the fuel pressure regulator and its O-ring. First attach a new O-ring to the pressure regulator after applying moderate petroleum oil to its surface before connecting the pressure regulator to the fuel filter. Reinstallation of the No.1 fuel suction support should follow the fuel pump assembly when put back into the fuel tank.

The process of servicing the fuel pressure regulator starts with disassembly of the fuel pump assembly from the fuel tank then moving to the removal of the No. 2 fuel suction support and finally extracting the pressure regulator while you retrieve its O-ring. The process starts with installing an O-ring on the pressure regulator before applying to it a light coating of gasoline to aid installation followed by attachment to the fuel filter. After reinstalling the No. 2 fuel suction support, you should replace the fuel pump assembly into the fuel tank.

The first step to replace the Fuel Pressure Regulator requires detachment of the fuel pump along with its sender gauge assembly before proceeding to separate the fuel suction plate by disconnecting both its fuel sender gauge connector and ground plate. Subsequently use 2 screwdrivers to pry out the fuel suction plate while avoiding damage to the suction support and fuel suction plate followed by disconnecting the fuel pump connector. The next step entails extracting the pressure regulator and taking out its O-ring. Reinstallation requires a new O-ring fitted onto the pressure regulator followed by application of a small amount of gasoline on the O-ring before pushing the regulator inside. The first step should be to restore the fuel pump connection. After that install the fuel suction plate to both the fuel filter and fuel pump assembly components before reattaching the fuel sender gauge connector and ground plate. The conclusion of this procedure requires returning the fuel pump and sender gauge assembly to its position inside the fuel tank.

Place a new O-ring onto the pressure regulator and apply a light coat of gasoline to it for easier installation.

Pull out the pressure regulator and ensure to remove the O-ring from it.

Place a new O-ring on the pressure regulator, apply a light coat of gasoline to the O-ring, and push the pressure regulator back in.

Disconnect the fuel pump connector.

A light coat of gasoline.

In the reverse order of removal.

Take care not to damage the suction support and fuel suction plate.

Connect the fuel pump connector.

In the reverse order of removal.
