The first step to remove the Neutral Safety Switch from U340E AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE involves disconnecting the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. The first step should be to remove the engine under cover which is positioned on the left side. The process requires the removal of a transmission control cable assembly this includes nut removal and disconnecting the cable from the control shaft lever followed by clip removal to disconnect the cable from the control cable bracket. You should disconnect the connector from the assembly then take off the nut and washer and control shaft lever before using a tool to pry out the lock plate to remove the manual valve shaft nut and afterwards remove the 2 screws which lets you pull out the park/neutral position switch assembly.
