2010 Toyota Camry Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove and replace the front shock absorber on 2010 Toyota Camry?
A: The first step to change the front shock absorber involves wheel removal. The LH front lower arm support needs a jack and wooden block to protect it before disconnecting the front stabilizer link assembly from the shock absorber through nut removal; if the ball joint turns with the nut tighten it with a 19 mm wrench for TMC Made or 6 mm hexagon wrench for TMMK Made. Start by putting your wrench on the lock nut of the front shock absorber retaining coil spring without taking it away then disconnect the flexible hose and the front speed sensor wire harness from the front shock absorber coil spring ensuring the front speed sensor comes off. Start by removing the 2 nuts located beneath the front shock absorber while preventing the bolt rotation and then unscrew the 3 upper side nuts. Lower the front axle assembly to remove the 2 bolts on the lower side of the front shock absorber which enables the removal of the front shock absorber with coil spring when the front speed sensor is disconnected.
