2009 Toyota Camry Shock Absorber Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to install the front shock absorber with coil spring on 2009 Toyota Camry?
A: The front shock absorber with coil spring installation requires first positioning it onto the front axle assembly followed by inserting the front-side bolts into the vehicle. The vehicle must be carefully lifted with a wooden block before the front shock absorber with coil spring's upper end can be attached to the vehicle using 3 nuts torqued to 85 Nm (867 kgf-cm, 63 ft-lbf). Secure the two nuts on the lower portion of the front shock absorber with coil spring but avoid bolt rotation while torquing them to 210 Nm (2,140 kgf-cm, 155 ft-lbf). Install the front flexible hose together with front speed sensor wire harness by using a bolt that requires 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf) torque while being cautious to avoid wire harness twisting. You must tighten the lock nut to 70 Nm (714 kgf-cm, 52 ft-lbf) when completing it. After installing the front stabilizer link assembly with a nut use a hexagon wrench (6 mm) to hold the stud if the ball joint turns with the nut while torquing it to 74 Nm (755 kgf-cm, 55 ft-lbf). Install the front wheel before performing torqueing it to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf).
