- Q: How to remove the shift cable from the C50 manual transaxle on 2010 Scion xD?A: The procedure for shifting the C50 manual transaxle requires removing the shift lever knob sub-assembly together with the upper console panel and subsequently removing the console box cover rear, console box carpet, and rear console box sub-assembly. The next step involves removing both the front console box together with the front floor center brace. First disconnect the heated oxygen sensor cable and then extract the front exhaust pipe mounting assembly. The removal of the front No. 1 floor heat insulator requires extracting two bolts and a nut. Disassembly of the transmission control cable assembly requires users to disconnect the control shift cable from the shift lever followed by clip removal to disconnect the control select cable from the shift lever before turning the adjust nut 180 degrees clockwise when gripping it to separate the control cable assembly components. Terminating the 2 cables from the transaxle requires first removing the 2 clips and 2 washers then removing the 2 additional clips that disconnect the wires from the control cable bracket followed by removing the 3 nuts to detach the transmission control cable.
