- Q: How to remove the shift cable from the C50 manual transaxle on 2009 Scion xD?A: The sequence to remove the shift cable from the C50 manual transaxle starts by removing the shift lever knob sub-assembly followed by the upper console panel and then the console box cover rear, the console box carpet followed by the rear console box sub-assembly. First disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector followed by detachments of the front console box and front floor center brace. Start the procedure by detaching the front exhaust pipe assembly together with front No.1 floor heat insulator by removing 2 bolts and a nut. The transmission control cable assembly can be separated after first removing the control shift cable from the shift lever and dropping the clip and turning the adjust nut 180 degrees clockwise while holding it throughout the process. First remove the 2 clips from both cables running to the transaxle then separate the 2 cables from the control cable bracket using the 2 clips while executing the removal of the transmission control cable with its 3 nuts.
