Shift Control Cable

The sequence to remove the shift cable from the C50 MANUAL TRANSAXLE starts by removing the shift lever knob sub-assembly followed by the upper console panel and then the console box cover rear, the console box carpet followed by the rear console box sub-assembly. First disconnect the heated oxygen sensor connector followed by detachments of the front console box and front floor center brace. Start the procedure by detaching the front exhaust pipe assembly together with front No.1 floor heat insulator by removing 2 bolts and a nut. The transmission control cable assembly can be separated after first removing the control shift cable from the shift lever and dropping the clip and turning the adjust nut 180 degrees clockwise while holding it throughout the process. First remove the 2 clips from both cables running to the transaxle then separate the 2 cables from the control cable bracket using the 2 clips while executing the removal of the transmission control cable with its 3 nuts.

The procedure for shifting the C50 MANUAL TRANSAXLE requires removing the shift lever knob sub-assembly together with the upper console panel and subsequently removing the console box cover rear, console box carpet, and rear console box sub-assembly. The next step involves removing both the front console box together with the front floor center brace. First disconnect the heated oxygen sensor cable and then extract the front exhaust pipe mounting assembly. The removal of the front No. 1 floor heat insulator requires extracting two bolts and a nut. Disassembly of the transmission control cable assembly requires users to disconnect the control shift cable from the shift lever followed by clip removal to disconnect the control select cable from the shift lever before turning the adjust nut 180 degrees clockwise when gripping it to separate the control cable assembly components. Terminating the 2 cables from the transaxle requires first removing the 2 clips and 2 washers then removing the 2 additional clips that disconnect the wires from the control cable bracket followed by removing the 3 nuts to detach the transmission control cable.

Proceed to install the front exhaust pipe assembly, front floor center brace, front console box, rear console box sub-assembly, console box carpet, console box cover rear, upper console panel, and shift lever knob sub-assembly as required.

Remove the 2 clips and washers to disconnect the 2 cables from the transaxle, remove the 2 clips to disconnect the 2 cables from the control cable bracket, and then take off the 3 nuts.

Ensure the protruding portion of the cable outer faces upward and that the lock of the cable outer is protruding beyond portion A.
