2010 Scion xD Clock Spring Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to remove the Clock Spring Assembly / Spiral Cable on 2010 Scion xD?
A: The procedure to extract the Clock Spring Assembly / Clock Spring begins by positioning the front wheels straight ahead followed by removing the negative battery cable along with a 90-second wait before continuing. Start by removing the steering pad before proceeding to remove the steering wheel assembly together with the steering column lower cover and upper cover. The horn connector should be detached on the clock spring followed by moving the slider to release the Air Bag connector before disconnecting the steering sensor connector. When removing the clock spring one must first disengage the three claws. The steering angle sensor becomes part of the required equipment removal during this step.
