- Q: How to remove the steering knuckle on 2010 Scion xB?A: The procedure for removing the steering knuckle begins by removing both the front wheel and the front axle hub nut before continuing to the front speed sensor and tie rod end sub-assembly and front disc brake caliper assembly. First remove the front speed sensor before proceeding with the tie rod end sub-assembly disconnect and lastly the front disc brake caliper assembly separation. The service process requires removing the front disc before separating the front lower No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly. Finish the removal with removal of the front axle assembly and front lower ball joint assembly. The task to remove the steering knuckle involves removing the 4 bolts and axle hub from the steering knuckle while maintaining the hub and bearing's magnet rotor side in an upright position to avoid foreign object interaction prior to removing the front disc brake dust cover from the knuckle.
