2010 Scion xB A/C Switch Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Switch in the control assembly on 2010 Scion xB?
A: All steps for control assembly replacement start with consulting the bolt, screw, and nut specifications from the body and frame interior moulding, trim, dashboard, and instrument panel. The disconnect process should begin by removing the negative battery cable then waiting at least 90 seconds before continuing the repair work to avoid Air Bag activation. First disconnect the front door lighting Weather Strip on the right side, then left side after which remove the front pillar garnish from both sides of the vehicle. The service procedure demands elimination of the instrument cluster finish center panel sub-assembly and both instrument cluster finish lower panel together with instrument cluster finish panel assembly. The technician must start by taking off the combination meter assembly and the glove compartment door assembly before moving to the upper instrument panel sub-assembly. The step requires removing both shift lever knob sub-assemblies from manual transaxle vehicles in addition to instrument cluster finish center lower panels. Separating the air conditioning panel requires first removing the 3 clips and 2 claws followed by disconnecting the 3 connectors and clamp until the No. 2 heater control cable sub-assembly can be disconnected through claw disengagement and the air mix damper control cable sub-assembly becomes separate after claw removal.
