The first step for repairing the HVAC control assembly requires users to disconnect the negative battery cable and wait 90 seconds to stop Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. Remove first the heater control knobs before dismantling the number 2 and number 1 instrument cluster finish panel garnishes. Service the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly center by first unscrewing 4 screws and then detaching 4 clips and a claw before disconnecting the connectors. Start by unclipping the cables that connect the defroster damper control to the heater control and accessory assembly through three screws and the screwdriver-detached cable clamp claw. Stop the cable wire bending. Detach the claw from the air inlet damper control lever before removing the heater switch assembly by unscrewing its 2 screws. The heater switch assembly should be installed first and followed by the air inlet damper control lever for installation. Connect the inner and outer cables of the air mix damper control cable while the defroster damper control cable must function properly with straight wires in place. Begin by connecting the heater control and accessory assembly through 3 screws and finally put in the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly center by matching connectors while attaching clips and claw and screwing in 4 pieces. The procedure ends with the installation of heater control knobs followed by attachment of the No. 1 and No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel garnishes and battery cable connection to the negative terminal before system initialization for post-battery-reconnect requirements.

Before starting the repair of the center cluster module switch customers should detach the negative battery cable for 90 seconds to stop the activation of Air Bags and seat belt pretensioners. Remove the 3 heater control knobs before unscrewing 2 screws of the instrument cluster finish panel center while detaching 6 clips and 4 claws along with disconnecting the connectors. The service starts with unscrewing 2 screws from the center cluster module switch while also detaching 3 claws. Attach the three claws to the center cluster module switch before fastening it with two screws. Secure the connectors for the instrument cluster finish panel center and fasten 6 clips as well as 4 claws before installing 2 screws. Reinstall the three heater control knobs before reattaching the negative terminal cable of the battery.

Disengage 3 claws and disconnect it, using a screwdriver to open the claw of the cable clamp to disconnect the defroster damper control cable sub assembly and the air mix damper control cable sub assembly, ensuring not to bend the cable wires.

Install the No. 6 center cluster module knob by attaching the 3 claws.

Reconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal and perform initialization, as certain systems require this after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable.

Connect the 3 connectors and clamp, engage the 3 clips and 2 claws.

Connect the No. 2 heater control cable sub-assembly by engaging its 2 claws.

If applicable, remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly and the instrument cluster finish center lower panel.

Disconnect the No. 2 heater control cable sub-assembly by disengaging the 2 claws, and disconnect the air mix damper control cable sub-assembly by disengaging the 2 claws.

Disengage three claws and disconnect it, using a screwdriver to open the claw of the cable clamp to disconnect the defroster damper control cable sub assy and the air mix damper control cable sub assy, ensuring not to bend the cable wires.

Connect the inner cable end of the air mix damper control cable sub-assembly to the heater control lever and secure the outer cable on the cable clamp.

Disengage the 3 claws.
