2010 Scion xB A/C Compressor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to remove the A/C Compressor on 2010 Scion xB?
A: The first task before removing the 2AZ-FE engine HVAC compressor requires performing a refrigerant recovery process from the refrigeration system. Start by taking off the rear engine under cover RH and the No. 1 engine under cover from the vehicle. Next disconnect the fan and generator V belt. The suction hose sub-assembly requires removing its bolt along with its O-ring before securing the openings with vinyl tape as moisture and foreign material prevention. The discharge hose sub-assembly requires removal of its bolt and O-ring followed by opening closure with vinyl tape across both sections. The compressor assembly removal process requires disconnecting the connector and taking out the two bolts and two nuts while using a "TORX" socket wrench (E8) to extract the two stud bolts and the compressor.
