2010 Scion tC Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to Remove and Replace Coil Springs on 2010 Scion tC?
A: Starting coil spring treatment requires removing the front wheel first. Start by removing the front wiper arm head cap then continue with both front wiper arm and blade assembly removal from left-hand and right-hand sides of the vehicle. You should start by removing the hood to cowl top seal along with the cowl top ventilator louver from the left-hand side. Use a 6 mm hexagon wrench to hold the stud during disconnecting tasks because the ball joint might rotate with the nut. The front stabilizer link assembly on the left-hand side disconnects when using a jack to lift the front No. 1 suspension lower arm and removing the disconnecting nut for shock absorber assembly and coil spring operation. Disconnection of the front speed sensor begins to the left by first disconnecting the bolt and then the front No. 1 flexible hose and speed sensor while making sure both components separate fully from the shock absorber assembly. Begin by removing the front suspension support dust cover before loosening the lock nut which stays nibut and then uninstalling 2 nuts at the shock absorber bottom with the bolts remaining intact. The final step requires the removal of 3 upper nuts on the shock absorber with coil spring then lowering the jack while removing the 2 lower bolts with the shock absorber and coil spring to achieve total disconnection of the speed sensor.
