• Q: How to remove the front lower ball joint assembly on the LH side on 2010 Scion tC?

  A: Before removing the front lower ball joint assembly from the LH side the technician should first lift the vehicle's front section and analyze the assembly for vertical looseness as they move the front suspension arm lower No. 1 up and down in its range of motion. A cloth should be used together with a wooden block to provide protection for the bolts and nuts. The first step is to detach the front wheel and the front axle shaft LH nut. First disconnect both the front speed sensor LH followed by disconnecting the tie rod end sub-assembly LH. The lower LH section of front No. 1 suspension arm sub-assembly needs separation before removing the front axle assembly LH. The front lower ball joint assembly LH can be taken off by first removing the cotter pin along with the castle nuts then using Special Service Tool 09628-62011 to disconnect the lower ball joint.
