  A: Begin the ignition switch removal process by disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable and keeping in mind that certain systems need initialization after reconnecting the cable. The first step includes taking off the upper console panel sub-assembly either without seat heater system or with seat heater system and then removing the No. 2 console box carpet alongside the console box assembly. The service technician needs to take out the air conditioning control assembly together with the front door scuff plate LH and the cowl side trim sub-assembly LH. The technician should uninstall the lower No. 1 instrument panel finish panel as well as the front door scuff plate RH and cowl side trim sub-assembly RH.
