2009 Toyota Venza Coolant Temperature Sensor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to remove the Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch on 2009 Toyota Venza?
A: The first step when replacing the 1AR-FE engine control Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch requires removing both the No. 1 engine under cover and the No. 2 engine under cover. The first step involves removing the windshield wiper motor link then taking out the outer cowl top panel sub-assembly. Start the process by draining the engine coolant before proceeding to uninstall the engine cover at position No.1 along with the vacuum switching valve at position No.1 and the air cleaner components including the air cleaner cap sub-assembly and filter element sub-assembly from the air cleaner case. The last step includes separation of the engine coolant temperature sensor and its gasket after disconnecting its connector.
