2009 Toyota Sienna Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to install the Clock Spring and ensure proper function of the SRS warning light on 2009 Toyota Sienna?
A: Installation of the clock spring should begin with straightforward front wheels and a neutral position of the turn signal switch to prevent pin breakage. Insert the clock spring into its space while you remove the lock pin for new installation and attach the connectors to the clock spring being cautious when working with the Air Bag wire harness. After that, secure the steering column cover by mounting 2 screws. Begin clock spring adjustment only when both the ignition switch and battery negative terminal removal period exceeds 90 seconds. Slowly begin rotating the clock spring counterclockwise with your hands until it feels firm before rotating it forward in a clockwise direction 2.5 times. Avoid turning the cable by the Air Bag wire harness. Put the steering wheel assembly in place before checking the steering wheel center position while installing the steering pad and lower cover for steering wheel No.2 and No.3. Proceed to connect the power cable to the negative terminal of the battery then double-check the steering pad before system initialization. Some systems need this step when power is disconnected from the negative terminal. Check the SRS warning light for correct operation during the final inspection.
