2009 Toyota Sequoia Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to install the brake master cylinder on 2009 Toyota Sequoia?
A: The installation of the brake master cylinder begins with attaching a new brake master cylinder seal to the brake master cylinder followed by the tightening of 2 new nuts to 25 Nm (255 kgf-cm, 18 ft-lbf). The next step involves attaching the front No. 1 brake tube (labeled A) to the brake master cylinder by using a union nut wrench at 20 Nm (199 kgf-cm 14 ft-lbf) without the wrench and 18 Nm (185 kgf-cm 13 ft-lbf) with the wrench. This operation requires a torque wrench with a 300 mm (11.8 in.) fulcrum length while keeping the union nut wrench directly parallel to the torque wrench. The same torque specification must be applied during front to rear No. 1 brake tube (labeled B) attachment methodology. The next step involves attaching the brake fluid level warning switch connector after which you will add brake fluid to the reservoir followed by air bleeds of the brake master cylinder and brake line together with the VSC actuator assembly. After this process you must inspect for brake fluid leaks while checking the reservoir fluid level.
