2008 Toyota Sequoia Brake Master Cylinder Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to install the brake master cylinder on 2008 Toyota Sequoia?
A: When installing the brake master cylinder start by inserting a new seal onto the master cylinder and fasten it using two new nuts which need to be tightened to 25 Nm (255 kgf-cm, 18 ft-lbf). The front No. 1 brake tube (labeled A) needs to be connected to the brake master cylinder through using a union nut wrench whose parallel position to the torque wrench requires a torque of 20 Nm (199 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf) without the wrench or 18 Nm (185 kgf-cm, 13 ft-lbf) with the wrench when using a torque wrench with a 300 mm (11.8 in.) fulcrum length and a union nut wrench with a 22 mm (0.866 in.) fulcrum length. Use this method to complete the same torque procedure on the rear Brake tube No. 1 (labeled B). The brake fluid level warning switch connector gets installed after fluid filling into the reservoir then air removal begins from the brake master cylinder brake lines and VSC actuator assembly. The last step involves looking at the brake fluid level in the reservoir followed by leak inspection within the brake system.
