2009 Toyota Prius Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove the Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch on 2009 Toyota Prius?
A: The first step to remove the Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch for 1NZ-FXE engine control system requires both safety handling of high voltage circuits to prevent electric shock and leakage. First remove the radiator support opening cover then proceed to take out the engine under cover LH and RH. The first step should be to drain the engine coolant while also removing the HV coolant. You should disconnect the battery cable from the negative terminal while you wait for 90 seconds to avoid Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. Proceed by disconnecting the inverter with converter from its system position. Finish the sensor procedure by using a 19 mm deep socket wrench to both remove the sensor and gasket after sensor connector disconnection.
