2009 Toyota Prius Ignition Coil Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to remove the ignition coil assembly on 2009 Toyota Prius?
A: The key step to removing the 1NZ-FXE ignition coil assembly consists of removing the rear No. 2 floor board followed by the rear deck floor box and subsequently the rear No. 3 floor board. After cable removal from the negative battery terminal you should wait a minimum of 90 seconds before reconnection to stop Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. Start the removal process by disconnecting the engine room No. 2 relay block which requires removal of its 2 bolts and separation of the relay block from its connections. End the procedure by disconnecting the 4 ignition coil connectors followed by removing 4 bolts which allows withdrawal of all 4 ignition coils.
