2008 Toyota Prius Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove the Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch on 2008 Toyota Prius?
A: First perform necessary caution because the hybrid system holds high voltage circuits which may create electric shock or leakage during improper handling during the Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch extraction. The first step requires owners to remove components inside the radiator support opening section and engine under cover from both left and right sides. First drain the engine coolant before draining the high voltage coolant. Disconnect the negative battery terminal cable before allowing at least a 90-second wait period to stop Air Bag and seat belt pretensioners from activating. Proceed to take off the inverter with converter. Before removing the sensor a 19 mm deep socket wrench and disconnect the sensor connector. Then remove the sensor while also removing its gasket.
