The first step to remove the steering wheel starts with steering the front wheels straight ahead followed by disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable and waiting 90 seconds for the SRS system to become disabled. Users must understand that particular systems need initialization before their systems reconnect after disconnection. The individual should first remove the lower No. 3 steering wheel cover before moving on to the lower No. 2 steering wheel cover. Begin by taking out the steering pad and then remove the steering pad switch assembly by unhooking its connector while also removing two screws and releasing four claws. The first step requires removal of the cruise control main switch through its connector separation and subsequent removal of the 2 screws. The assembly requires removal by disassociating it from the steering wheel set nut then keeping records of wheel position and main shaft location and using Special Service Tool: 09950-50013, 09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05020, 09954-05011.
