2009 Toyota Land Cruiser Power Steering Pump Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to install a Power Steering Pump on 2009 Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: Before installing the vane pump assembly connect it with two bolts tightened at 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf). Install a new gasket onto the pressure feed tube before connecting it with the union bolt which needs torquing to 50 Nm (510 kgf-cm, 37 ft-lbf). The power steering oil pressure sensor requires connection to its connector while clamping the wire harness. Suction hose installation requires the clip to connect to the vane pump assembly. Reinstall the V-belt between fan and generator followed by the air cleaner parts and hoses and V-bank cover subunit. Mount the front fender apron seal front RH and front wheel RH. The process ends with power steering fluid addition and power steering system bleeding procedures. The inspection for power steering fluid leaks should be conducted before connecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.
