Both the lower and upper steering column covers need to be removed before the wiper switch removal process can begin. Disconnect the two connectors which attach to the windshield wiper switch assembly. A screwdriver with protective tape wrapping should be used to slow and remove the wiper switch through its claw release mechanism while maintaining gentle pressure to prevent claw breakage.
