    A: Steering Angle Sensor removal starts by setting the front wheels straight ahead position before disconnecting the negative battery cable. The Autoaway/Return function needs disabling through customize parameter modification before recording its current state because restoration will be needed. Turn engine switch on (IG) to operate both the tilt telescopic control until the steering column fully extends then retightens the engine switch off before removing power from the negative battery terminal. The procedure to disable the SRS system must span a 90-second waiting period after battery cable removal. Dismantle the lower No. 2 steering wheel cover and then proceed with removal of the lower No. 3 steering wheel cover, steering pad, then steering wheel assembly. During the repair procedure remove first the lower steering column cover before continuing to the upper steering column cover. The last step requires the user to detach the spiral cable sub-assembly before removing the Steering Angle Sensor by loosening its 6 claws followed by removing the spiral cable.
