2009 Toyota Land Cruiser Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to Properly Install a Seat Belt Assembly on 2009 Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: Begin the rear No. 1 seat outer belt installation by slotting the rear shoulder belt anchor plate sub-assembly into the claw and fastening it with 2 bolts torqued to 42 Nm which equals 428 kgf-cm and 31 ft-lbf while starting with the lower bolt. The rear No. 1 seat outer belt assembly installation requires proper alignment of the retractor claws to designated areas and seat belt positioning holes until both bolts achieve torques of 8.5 Nm (87 kgf-cm, 75 in-lbf) for bolt A and 42 Nm (428 kgf-cm, 31 in-lbf) for bolt B. Use the pretensioner connector before placing the seat belt shoulder anchor in position while tightening the nut to 42 Nm (428 kgf-cm, 31 ft-lbf). Attaching the thermistor connector first together with the power outlet socket connector and rear seat lock control lever cable enables installation of 18 clips and 2 claws leading to screw and clip installation before torquing the bolt to 12 Nm (122 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf). The LH installation of the rear No. 2 seat belt anchor requires a bolt that reaches 42 Nm (428 kgf-cm, 31 ft-lbf) torque but must avoid overlapping with the vehicle body. During RH installation use the same bolt torque to insert the rear No. 2 seat belt anchor then hook 3 claws to place the cover. The rear No. 1 seat belt anchor requires a bolt installation at 42 Nm torque (428 kgf-cm, 31 ft-lbf) followed immediately by attachment of three claws for cover installation. To complete the job secure the rear seat cover cap first followed by the No. 1 luggage compartment trim hook and rear door scuff plate and finish with the rear step cover and rear floor mat rear support plate. The installation ends with a connection of the cable to the negative battery terminal after installing the rear No. 2 seat assembly. Verify proper SRS warning light operation afterward.
