2009 Toyota Land Cruiser Neutral Safety Switch Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to remove the Neutral Safety Switch from the AB60F automatic transmission / transaxle on 2009 Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: The first step to extract the AB60F automatic transmission / transaxle neutral safety switch is to detach the negative cable from the battery terminal. The first step begins with disconnecting the floor shift gear shifting rod sub-assembly by removing its clip and pin before removing the shifting rod from the transmission control shaft lever RH. After disconnecting the switch connector remove the park/neutral position switch assembly by taking out the nut along with the spring washer and transmission control shaft lever RH. Begin by taking off the collar and transmission control rod bush as well as separating the transmission control shaft lever RH from its resting position. Follow the next instruction to remove the bolt and switch by bending the tabs of the lock washer first and then removing the lock nut and washer.
