- Q: How to remove the Window Motor on 2009 Toyota Highlander?A: The first step in removing the power window regulator motor requires disconnecting the battery negative terminal then waiting for 90 seconds to avoid Air Bag deployment. Initialization procedures for systems may be necessary after connecting the cable. You must first disassemble several components starting with the front door lower frame bracket garnish followed by inside handle bezel plug and then armrest upper base panel together with assist grip cover and courtesy light assembly and trim board sub-assembly after which you must remove inner glass Weather Strip and service hole cover and glass sub-assembly. The front door window regulator sub-assembly removal must occur first followed by using a T25 "TORX" driver to remove the 3 screws from the front power window regulator motor assembly. The removal of inside handle bezel plug together with armrest upper base panel and assist grip cover enables access to trim board sub-assembly and inner glass Weather Strip as well as service hole cover and upper Weather Strip portion to detach rear door window division bar sub-assembly. The procedure continues by taking out the following items: recessed rear door glass run, the window division bar sub-assembly, quarter window glass, glass sub-assembly, and rear door window regulator sub-assembly. Finally the removal of rear power window regulator motor assembly requires battery connections of positive (+) lead to terminal 2 and negative (-) lead to terminal 1 on the motor assembly to position the lift arm followed by using a "TORX" driver (T25) to remove its 3 screws.
