    A: A complete reading of safety instructions should be performed before starting to remove the Clock Spring Assembly / Clock Spring. Before work starts the mechanic must set front wheel alignment and eliminate negative terminal cable power for at least 90 seconds to stop Air Bags from activating. Some systems need to be initialized after reconnecting the cable. Begin by taking out the lower No. 3 steering wheel cover then move to remove the lower No. 2 steering wheel cover followed by the steering pad. Next check to remove both the steering wheel assembly while also taking out the steering column cover. Remove the connectors from the clock spring while the steering angle sensor using caution to avoid harm to the Air Bag wire harness. The process ends with removing the clock spring that contains the steering angle sensor by first removing three claws then six claws along with two pins.
