2009 Toyota Corolla Speed Sensor Parts Q&A
Q: How to remove the front speed sensor on 2009 Toyota Corolla?
A: The procedure to remove the front speed sensor begins with disconnecting the negative battery cable before removing the front wheel. You should start by removing both the side mudguard alongside the front fender liner. Vehicles built at TMMC and NUMMI require disconnecting the front speed sensor connector along with removing the front speed sensor wire harness clamp from the body. The necessary procedure continues with removal of the bolt and No. 2 sensor clamp from the body. After removing the brake flexible hose bolt the mechanic can disconnect the No. 1 sensor clamp from the shock absorber and also remove the clamp from the shock absorber and finally detach the bolt and front speed sensor. TMC made vehicles require the same installation process without performing the No. 1 sensor clamp removal procedure on the shock absorber. Allowing foreign material to attach to the sensor tip and properly cleaning the front speed sensor installation hole and surface must be performed every time the sensor is removed.
