2009 Toyota Corolla Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove the brake master cylinder on 2009 Toyota Corolla?
A: It is necessary to first create brake booster vacuum release before extracting the brake master cylinder. The service requires unfastening of the 2ZR-FE No. 2 cylinder head cover together with the air cleaner cap sub-assembly and air cleaner case. The necessary sub-assemblies for 2AZ-FE engine removal include No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly combined with air cleaner cap sub-assembly and connected hose alongside air cleaner case. The service procedure requires users to first detach the front wiper arm head cap and then continue removal of the left and right front wiper arm and blade assemblies. Detach the series of components which include hood to cowl top seal, center No. 1 cowl top ventilator louver, left cowl top ventilator louver, and windshield wiper motor and link assembly from the vehicle. The removal process of the outer cowl top panel requires disengaging the clamp on TMC made vehicles along with bending the water guard plate RH and removing 12 bolts and similar steps on non-TMC made vehicles that include bend and disengaging of the No. 1 heater air duct splash shield seal. A front strut bar must be removed before disassembling suspension tower damper assembly. Drain the brake fluid and separate the clutch tube through clip movement. Disconnecting the connector represents the first step before removing a brake master cylinder sub-assembly since you must also disengage the clamp and use a union nut wrench (10 mm) to disconnect the four brake lines. Detach the two nuts together with the brake tube way while removing the brake master cylinder sub-assembly. Pay attention to handle master cylinder correctly while avoiding impacts because replacing a dropped master cylinder is forbidden. Place the master cylinder flat or turn its tip toward the bottom when replacing or removing it to stop the piston from escaping. Veterans must protect the master cylinder piston from foreign objects before using a soft cloth to clean and applying an even coat of lithium soap base glycol grease on the full piston perimeter. Extract the O-ring present in the brake master cylinder sub-assembly.
