2009 Toyota Corolla Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to install the camshaft position sensors on 2009 Toyota Corolla?
A: The installation of 2ZR-FE camshaft position sensors starts by applying light engine oil to the No. 1 crank position sensor O-rings. The No. 1 crank position sensor requires installation along with its bolt through the intake camshaft side for a torque of 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf) followed by connecting the No. 1 crank position sensor connector. The procedure for installing the No. 1 crank position sensor on the exhaust camshaft requires the same bolt torque followed by sensor connector connection and then harness clamp attachment along with the duty vacuum switching connector. You should inspect for oil leaks before installing the engine under cover RH and then putting on the No. 2 cylinder head cover.
