- Q: How to service the Air Bag Control Module on 2009 Scion xD?A: The Air Bag Control Module service commencement starts through disconnecting the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. The servicing process for manual transaxle vehicles starts by uninstalling the shift lever knob sub-assembly followed by removal of the upper console panel and rear console box cover and its sub-assembly and front console box. You should handle the center Air Bag sensor assembly once you remove all other components. Physical impact to the Air Bag sensor or any contact to the negative battery terminal must be avoided while servicing the module because either could result in the Air Bag activating. Cleverly detach the Air Bag sensor by first lowering the lever to expose the connector holder and secondly erasing the three bolts which hold it in position.
