2008 Toyota Tundra Exhaust Pipe Parts Q&A
Q: How to install the exhaust pipe (except Regular Cab Standard Deck) on 2008 Toyota Tundra?
A: The 1GR-FE engine exhaust pipe installation (apart from Regular Cab Standard Deck) starts at the Air Fuel Ratio Sensor for Bank 1 Sensor 1 followed by Bank 2 Sensor 1. The installation starts with Heated Oxygen Sensor for Bank 1 Sensor 2 and then proceeds to the Bank 2 Sensor 2 device. The following process should be used to install the front exhaust pipe assembly which requires applying a new gasket while attaching the exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold RH through 3 new nuts torqued to 54 Nm (554 kgf-cm, 40 ft-lbf). Afterward, connect the air fuel ratio sensor and heated oxygen sensor connectors before clamping their 2 wire clamps. Installation of the front No. 2 exhaust pipe assembly begins by attaching it to the exhaust pipe support with a new gasket and three new nuts that receive a torque of 54 Nm (554 kgf-cm, 40 ft-lbf). The air fuel ratio sensor and heated oxygen sensor connectors should be connected afterward. The next step involves attaching the center exhaust pipe to 3 exhaust pipe supports after installing 2 front exhaust pipe gaskets at LH and RH positions and tightening all 4 center pipe bolts to 48 Nm (489 kgf-cm, 35 ft-lbf). The assembly of the tailpipe starts with attaching it to the exhaust pipe support. Then install a fresh gasket onto the center exhaust pipe. Finish by attaching the tailpipe to the center pipe through a new clamp that requires 32 Nm (326 kgf-cm, 24 ft-lbf) torque with installation within the designated angle range. All exhaust gas leakage needs to be examined.
