2008 Toyota Tundra Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to install the exhaust pipe on 2008 Toyota Tundra?
A: The installation process for the 1GR-FE engine exhaust pipe in a Regular Cab Standard Deck starts with installing Air Fuel Ratio Sensor for Bank 1 Sensor 1 followed by installing the Air Fuel Ratio Sensor for Bank 2 Sensor 1. The installation order for the exhaust pipe requires Heated Oxygen Sensor for Bank 1 Sensor 2 followed immediately by Heated Oxygen Sensor for Bank 2 Sensor 2. Install the front exhaust pipe assembly with three new nuts by using a new gasket which requires 54 Nm (554 kgf-cm, 40 ft-lbf) torque setting before connecting air fuel ratio sensors and heated oxygen sensor connectors and attaching the 2 heated oxygen sensor wire clamps. When installing the front No. 2 exhaust pipe assembly start by adding a new gasket followed by attaching it to exhaust manifold LH using 3 new nuts torqued to 54 Nm (554 kgf-cm, 40 ft-lbf). Then connect the air fuel ratio sensor and heated oxygen sensor connectors. Place a new gasket on the front No. 2 exhaust pipe before connecting the exhaust pipe support and fastening it with 2 bolts along with 2 new nuts which should be torqued to 48 Nm (489 kgf-cm, 35 ft-lbf). The installation plan includes connecting the center exhaust pipe to three supports before installing gaskets on both front exhaust pipe ends followed by applying four bolts which should be torqued to 48 Nm (489 kgf-cm, 35 ft-lbf). Place the center exhaust pipe new gasket before connecting it to the tailpipe section using a newly installed clamp which should receive a torque of 32 Nm (326 kgf-cm, 24 ft-lbf) while maintaining the clamp within its designated angle limits. Check for any exhaust gas leakage as the final step.
