2008 Toyota Tundra Exhaust Pipe Parts Q&A
Q: How to Properly Remove the Exhaust Pipe on 2008 Toyota Tundra?
A: Protective gloves are necessary when working on the exhaust pipe of the 1GR-FE engine (except Regular Cab Standard Deck) while also making sure the exhaust pipe reaches low temperature. Start by disconnecting the tailpipe assembly through the removal of a bolt and clamp alongside the unfastening of the tailpipe from its exhaust pipe support. The next step involves removing the center exhaust pipe assembly through a process of unscrewing 4 bolts followed by disconnecting it from its 3 exhaust pipe supports. Detach both the air fuel ratio sensor connector and heated oxygen sensor connector before taking off the front No. 2 exhaust pipe assembly from its exhaust pipe support by removing 3 nuts. Begin the front exhaust pipe assembly procedure by detaching the air fuel ratio sensor connector and the heated oxygen sensor connector before removing the 2 heated oxygen sensor wire clamps followed by detaching the 3 nuts and the front exhaust pipe. The maintenance apprentice must disconnect and remove both Bank 1 Sensor 1 and Bank 2 Sensor 1 air fuel ratio sensors and Bank 1 Sensor 2 and Bank 2 Sensor 2 heated oxygen sensors.
