2008 Toyota Tundra Vapor Canister Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to install the Vapor Canister on 2008 Toyota Tundra?
A: Technicians must install the Evaporative Emission Control Canister for the 1GR-FE engine starting with 4 bolts that need 29 Nm torque (296 kgf-cm, 21 ft-lbf). Follow these steps to connect the wire harness clamp and vent line hose by pushing it into the port then securing it with the retainer after checking for damages to the system. Ensure the air inlet line hose connection by securely attaching it while verifying there are no damages or foreign materials and double-check the secure attachment through both vent hose and valve pulling. Attach the purge line hose along with the pump module connector. Secure the wiring harness clamp bracket through tightening its nut until it reaches 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf). When all connections have been made users should reconnect the cable to the negative terminal but they should note that specific systems might need initialization following the reconnection.
