The Evaporative Emission Control Canister needs servicing by first disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable but waiting ninety seconds after the ignition switch turn-off to allow the navigation system to save its memory and settings. Start the service process by removing the canister assembly through a technique which involves taking off the nuts and disconnecting wiring harness clamp brackets and pump module connectors and purge line hoses and air inlet line hoses by pushing toward the canister with firm pressure and pinching the hoses before pulling out gently without tools. The process of vent line hose disconnect requires both a retainer pinch and hose elevation for visual observation of foreign materials which may lead to O-ring damage or leakage. The wire harness clamp needs to be removed first before disconnecting the four bolts that remove the canister. You should install the canister by first attaching its four bolts with a torque of 29 N.m (296 kgf.cm / 21 ft.lbf) and then attaching the sequence of wire harness clamp followed by vent line hose insertion and retainer locking and air inlet line hose and purge line hose addition and pump module connector attachment. End the repair by reattaching the negative battery cable while remembering that system initialization might be necessary after restoration for certain components. Secure the wiring harness clamp bracket by screwing in its nut, tighten it to 10 N.m (102 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf), and finally attach the cable to the negative terminal.
