Toyota Tundra Exhaust Pipe Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to install the exhaust pipe (except Regular Cab Standard Deck) on Toyota Tundra?
A: The first installation step for the 1GR-FE engine exhaust pipe (except Regular Cab Standard Deck) requires fitting the Air Fuel Ratio Sensor for Bank 1 Sensor 1 followed by Bank 2 Sensor 1. The Heated Oxygen Sensor for Bank 1 Sensor 2 should be installed before moving on to the Heated Oxygen Sensor for Bank 2 Sensor 2. Secure the front exhaust pipe assembly by applying a fresh gasket before positioning the exhaust pipe to the Exhaust Manifold at its right side using three new retaining nuts that should get torqued to 54 Nm (554 kgf-cm, 40 ft-lbf). The air fuel ratio sensor connector should be connected first while also connecting the heated oxygen sensor connector before attaching both heated oxygen sensor wire clamps. The front No. 2 exhaust pipe assembly should be connected to the exhaust pipe support before installing a new gasket while attaching it through three new nuts which should be torqued to 54 Nm (554 kgf-cm, 40 ft-lbf). Join the wires for air fuel ratio sensor and heated oxygen sensor before clamping them together. The center exhaust pipe requires connection to its three exhaust pipe supports before installing two new gaskets along the front exhaust pipes' both sides. The center exhaust pipe should be fastened with four bolts that reach a torque level of 48 Nm (489 kgf-cm, 35 ft-lbf). Once complete the tailpipe assembly needs its connection to the exhaust pipe support followed by applying a new gasket to the center exhaust pipe before final attachment of the tailpipe to the center pipe through a new clamp torqued to 32 Nm (326 kgf-cm, 24 ft-lbf) while checking for the proper clamp seating angle. Given that this marks the conclusion of installation you should test for exhaust gas leakages.
