2008 Toyota Sienna Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove the spark plugs on 2008 Toyota Sienna?
A: A proper 2GR-FE ignition system spark plug removal requires the removal of the negative terminal cable first and draining all engine coolant. The first step requires removing the front wiper arm head cap before proceeding with the right and left front wiper arms. In order to proceed start by removing the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly followed by the windshield wiper motor and link assembly and then detach the No. 1 cowl top to cowl brace inner. Continue installation by taking off the outer front section of the cowl top panel sub-assembly and the No. 1 engine under cover. The next procedure requires removal of the V-bank cover sub-assembly followed by the air cleaner cap sub-assembly. The procedure starts by unwiring the 2 harness clamps before using a torque wrench to remove the bolt from the intake air surge tank assembly as well as the No. 1 surge tank stay which requires safety precautions due to the presence of a nut and 2 bolts. After that, extract the air surge tank assembly by disconnecting its harness clamps and removing all installation bolts and nuts. After disconnecting all six ignition coil connectors the technician can remove the ignition coil assembly by taking out the six bolts and ignition coils. Finally, remove the 6 spark plugs.
