2008 Toyota Sienna Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove the front shock absorber with coil spring on 2008 Toyota Sienna?
A: The front wheel must be removed as the first step to detach the front shock absorber with its coil spring. The repair process starts with disconnecting the front wiper arm head cap and continuing with removing the front wiper arm RH and front wiper arm LH. First detach the windshield wiper motor & link assembly along with the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly. First disconnect the wire harness and eliminate 9 bolts and cowl top brace before removing the cowl top panel sub-assembly outer front from the vehicle. You must detach the front stabilizer link assembly LH by removing its nut then separating it from the shock absorber assembly front LH. Use a hexagon (6 mm) wrench on the stud to prevent its movement if the ball joint turns while removing the nut. You should then loosen the lock nut on the front shock absorber with coil spring but maintain it in place only during disassembly procedures. Separate the bolt to disconnect the front flexible hose No.1 and speed sensor front LH. Begin the operation by removing the 2 nuts and 2 bolts from the lower side of the front shock absorber with coil spring while holding the nut to prevent rotation before removing the bolt. To take out the front shock absorber with coil spring you must first remove the upper side 3 nuts.
