2008 Toyota RAV4 Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to install the fuel injector assembly on 2008 Toyota RAV4?
A: The 2AZ-FE engine fuel injector assembly installation begins with gasoline or spindle oil coating on new O-rings before one is placed on each fuel injector. Apply gasoline or spindle oil to both the fuel delivery pipe surface facing the fuel injector O-ring. Repeat the same process with the oil on the O-ring before you attach left and right fuel injectors to the delivery pipe while checking for O-ring damage or jamming. The examiner should test fuel injector movement after installation; a damaged O-ring indicates replacement is needed. The procedure for the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly includes installation of four new insulators to the cylinder head and two delivery pipe spacers. Mount the fuel delivery pipe together with its 4 fuel injectors and secure the 2 bolts loosely but avoid dropping the injectors. Verify the fuel injectors rotate normally before replacing the O-ring and tightening the bolts to 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf). Finally, connect all 4 fuel injector connectors with 2 wire harness clamps. Secure the No. 2 ventilation hose to the ventilation valve by placing the paint mark and hose clamp correctly. Secure the fuel tube by connecting the main tube tube to its connector until it clicks and installing the fuel pipe clamp to keep the tube attached to the fuel hose clamp. After placement of the air cleaner cap sub-assembly and the No. 1 engine cover complete the connection of the negative battery cable terminal. You must check for fuel leaks after connecting the Techstream to the DLC3 while keeping the ignition switch on without starting the engine to select the Active Test mode and look for fuel system leaks before switching off the ignition and detaching the Techstream.
