2007 Toyota RAV4 Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the fuel injector on 2007 Toyota RAV4?
A: The service and repair of fuel injectors requires a method that starts with pressure discharge through console box removal followed by connector disconnection and engine start until its automatic stop before turning off ignition while removing the fuel tank cap to let air escape. Replace the console box after reconnecting its connector. The cable removal from the negative battery terminal should be followed by at least 90 seconds to stop Air Bags from triggering. Operation starts by removing the No. 1 engine cover together with the air cleaner cap sub-assembly before disconnecting the fuel main tube without causing bends. After removing the fuel tube from the fuel hose clamp the technician washes the fuel tube connector and must use Service Tool: 09268-21010 to disconnect the fuel tube. After draining the remaining fuel the disconnected parts should get wrapped for protection. Disconnect the ventilation valve's No. 2 ventilation hose before removing the fuel delivery pipe assembly through wire harness clamp removal and fuel injector disconnect before extracting the bolts with injector drop prevention. First remove the cylinder head delivery pipe insulators together with the spacers before extracting the fuel injectors from the delivery pipe. New O-rings should receive a thin gasoline or spindle oil treatment before installing them together with the fuel delivery pipe contact surface. Afterward, insert the injectors while checking their ease of rotation. New delivery pipe spacers and insulators should be installed prior to the fuel delivery pipe with its injectors. After fastening the bolts loosely, check injector rotation and torque them to 20 N.m (205 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf). Proceed by reattaching all fuel injector connectors and wire harness clamps while you connect the No. 2 ventilation hose correctly. Install the fuel main tube while checking for the "click" sound and then secure it with the fuel pipe clamp and fuel tube to the hose clamp. After reinstalling the air cleaner cap sub-assembly and No. 1 engine cover, reconnect the negative battery terminal but verify for fuel leaks through a DLC3 intelligent tester when the ignition is set to ON. The tester should check for leaks before turning off the ignition and tester removal.
