2008 Toyota RAV4 Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to install the Crankshaft Position Sensor on 2008 Toyota RAV4?
A: The 2AZ-FE engine control system Crankshaft Position Sensor installation starts with checking for O-ring damage before application of engine oil. Before inserting the sensor, apply oil to the O-ring while installing it using its bolt and achieve a torque value of 9.0 Nm (90 kgf-cm, 80 in-lbf). Begin by installing the clamp on the wire harness and on the connector before connecting the sensor connector. The sensor should have its wire harness properly mounted to the harness clamp bracket located behind the timing chain cover rib. The generator assembly must be installed onto the vehicle after completing sensor installation. Make the terminal connection to the negative battery terminal before verifying engine oil leakage.
