    A: Users need to start the removal process of the Clock Spring Assembly / Clock Spring by disconnecting the negative battery cable for at least ninety seconds before proceeding to prevent Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. The front wheels need to be aligned straight forward. The removal process begins with taking off the No. 2 steering wheel cover lower then continuing with the removal of the No. 3 steering wheel cover lower. Remove the steering pad assembly after disconnecting the steering wheel assembly and then take off the steering column cover. The removal of the clock spring sub-assembly requires disconnecting the Air Bag connector with caution toward the Air Bag wire harness then disengaging three claws to extract the clock spring.
