Installing the clock spring assembly requires straight front wheels together with the turn signal switch positioned in the neutral position because these steps protect the pin from damage. Installation of the clock spring must include removing the lock pin when using a new one while connecting the Air Bag connector within proper wire harness guidelines. After inserting the steering column cover begin a gentle counterclockwise cable rotation until it reaches proper resistance. Move the cable an additional 2.5 clockwise turns for mark alignment before avoiding use of the Air Bag wire harness for further turning. Afterward install the
Steering Wheel assembly then the steering pad assembly before putting on the No. 2 and No. 3 steering wheel cover lowers. After connecting the cable to the negative terminal attach the power source and evaluate the assembly of the steering pad. Post-battery reconnection procedures should be initialized when applicable systems require it and the SRS warning light needs inspection for proper operation. The last installation step requires a check of the steering wheel position.
