Before servicing the front door courtesy switch the technician must disconnect the negative cable from the battery terminal while waiting for 90 seconds to avoid Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. The first procedure involves unbolted the front door courtesy light switch assembly while disconnecting both the bolt and switch and the connector. A user must first join the cable and afterward must fasten the switch using the bolt for installation. The initialization process must occur after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal since system requirements need it when disconnecting and reconnecting the cable.
