The first step to undertake power door lock actuator removal involves disconnection of the car's negative battery terminal followed by a 90-second wait until at least 90 seconds has passed to stop Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. The power door lock system might need initialization after restoring power through the cable connection. The power door lock actuator replacement process begins with removal of the interior components including front door lower frame bracket garnish, inside handle bezel plug, assist grip cover, courtesy light assembly and front door trim board sub-assembly, inner glass Weather Strip, service hole cover, glass sub-assembly and glass run. The technician should remove the front door rear lower frame sub-assembly and the outside handle covers for both the driver side and front passenger side. With a "TORX" socket wrench (T30) remove the front door lock assembly 3 screws before slowly pulling the assembly down to extract the front door lock open rod from outside handle components on the way to assembly and cable final elimination. The master technician should detach the front door lock remote control cable assembly and the inside locking cable assembly by releasing the 3 claws with a screwdriver while taping the screwdriver tip.
